Walk for Life raises funds, awareness
More than 50 people were up and out early Saturday morning to raise money for Sav-a-Life in Troy."It's just that important," said Jana Rogers, a volunteer with Sav-a-Life. "Today's 'Walk for Life' has been a great success and we appreciate each person who came out and walked and all of those who made pledges to the center. We won't have the totals for the Walk until all of the pledges are in but we are very pleased with the response."One of the most encouraging things about the Walk for Life today was all of the young people who participated. We had college students and high school students and a few toddlers."Kristina Vise, the founder of Students for Life at Troy University said that she, too, was excited that so many young people participated._"Students for Life is dedicated to spreading the pro-life message and to creating awareness of the Women's Life Center here in Troy and the services that it has to offer," Vise said.
